Impressive Pair of Continental Overscale Cast Iron Urns with Serpent Handles

These enormous cast iron urns were removed from the Colgate Estate in Northwestern Connecticut and will make an impressive statement at the entrance of your estate. Very heavy and with entwined snake handles and lotus-form bodies, they have large drain holes and would be magnificent planted with an exuberant arrangement of sweet potato vines, coleus and millet. Please note that there is minor surface rusting around the bottom edges of the urns and lightly-rusted spots to the paint here and there, but nothing that negatively impacts their look or functionality. They can be re-painted or sandblasted and powder-coated to your custom specifications for a modest up-charge. We believe them to be from France but are not certain. Please install them on compacted gravel or stone to prevent sinkage over the years. They can be left outside year-round in all climates, but we do recommend emptying them of soil and covering their openings in harsh winter climates.
