Rare Pair of Small French 19th C Cast Iron Urns with Lion Heads and Ruffled Rims
This style of urn is hardly ever found and they are just wonderful! With their heavily-ruffled rims, semi-lobed bodies, and lion-head ring handles, they are perfect for a stunning flower-filled tabletop display inside or out. Dating to the 1880s but unsigned, they are most definitely French and feature their original silver paint with minor surface rusting. Sturdy in all weather, these can remain outside year-round, but we do recommend emptying them of dirt and covering the openings in cold climates. Weight is approximately 15 lbs. each. Please note that one lion-head has lost its jaw and so the ring is wired to the head instead of hanging freely.
