Set of Five French 19th C Cast Iron Bollards with Chains and Rosettes
Most homes and gardens have a spot that needs to be cordoned off to prevent unwanted access and these fabulous bollards with their original chains will do it in style! When we bought them, they had no way of being stabilized in an upright position, so we had custom, heavy-duty pointed stakes about 20” high welded to the bottom of each bollard so they are easily inserted into the ground and stay where you put them…no concrete footing needed. Each bollard is separated by a chain that should hook onto connectors on the bollards, but sadly, there are no hooks on the chains. Instead, the chains have a blunt end with screws that have long ago rusted in place and so hooks will need to be crafted. There are 4 chains without rosettes, and 2 chains with rosettes that measure 64.25 inches in length and the rosettes were made to attach to a wall. Please note that the bollards measure 4 inches diameter at the base (and include pintles for driving them into the ground), and 5.5 inches at the top where the chains connect. The height without the pintles measures 39.5 inches, while the height including the pintles is 59.5 inches. The bollards, chains and rosettes have a beautiful rusty patina commensurate with age and wear, but they can always be sandblasted and repainted if you like.
