Italian Ceramic Garden Seat/Table Base with Shell Motif

In truth, we know nothing about this lovely little ceramic (faience) garden seat/table base other than we love it and there is a “Made in Italy” sticker on the inside. It is in very good vintage condition with no cracks or repairs, but there are several small chips to the glazing. The concave top is designed to drain water if used as a seat, but we would have a 24” round glass top cut to make it a stunning cocktail table, inside or out. Probably from the 60s or 70s, it could be as recent as the 1990s, but at this price, who cares? Weight is approximately 25 lbs.

French Louis VX-Style Stool with Cabriole Legs and Hoof Feet

This is a lovely and graceful wooden (quite possibly walnut) stool, made in the style of Louis XV, and painted in a distinctive minty green. The cushy damask upholstery is in very good condition and the whole in untouched and very good original condition. Even though we are inclined to repaint it, we have left it as-is for fans of untouched mid-century furniture. Level and sturdy, it would be wonderful at your dressing table, next to your favorite chair or as a small coffee table in front of a loveseat. Weight is approximately 15 lbs.

Set of Four French Cane-Backed Louis XV-Style Dining Chairs

This lovely set of very comfortable French dining chairs comprises three side chairs and one armchair. They are in excellent and very sturdy condition with no breaks or repairs to the caning and beautiful detailing on legs and aprons of the seats. They will give you decades of pleasure at a small round dining table or used separately in a bedroom, library or hallway. The white paint and upholstered slip seats are about 10 years old and the paint has a few chips here and there, but is easy to touchup yourself. Alternately, you can repaint them in your preferred color, and the slip seats are a snap to recover with fabric and a staple gun. Please note these are not suitable for outdoor use unless you bring them in at night.

Pair of White "Spidlight" Chairs by Douglas Mont for Jetnet with Interior Lights

Not our usual fare, but we were completely entranced by the sculptural form, function and interior lighting capability of these chairs. Cast in a single piece from polypropylene, and originally designed by Douglas Mont in 2000 for Jetnet, who has produced them ever since, these chairs rarely are seen in white, which we think is the most appealing of colors for a contemporary pool, garden or loggia. They  feature a tripod base with curved tapering seat back, and a hole to the underside for inserting an electric light. The underside is impressed with the maker's mark. Wonderful condition and very comfortable! Please note that we have not yet changed out the wiring from French to American, but this is included in the price.

Set of Eight Steel Stak-A-Bye Chairs with Original Naugahyde Seats

This sleek set of eight polished steel Stak-A-Bye chairs features their original snap-on brown naugahyde seats and is rare, rare, rare. In lovely vintage condition, we had the frames stripped and lacquered, but there are some small specks of rust, mainly on the bottom of the legs. The seats are in very good condition, but do show some age-appropriate creasing. Some of the chairs are missing the rivets that connect the seat to the frame, but this does not impact their stability or comfort. What's even more special is that they all stack neatly in a corner or closet so they are perfect if you are short on space and long on entertaining. Superbly comfortable, we used them for years in our house in France as extra seating for large dinner parties, but are re-doing the dining area, so these are now for sale. Designed by Harry Sebel, an Englishman who settled in Australia and founded the Stak-A-Bye Company, his original designs were made all in steel or with the more rare naugahyde seats. Please contact us if you would ike photos of the individual chairs.

Pair of 19th C Painted Scottish Barber's Chairs

We love these chairs for their unusual sculptural form, gently reclining backs, and original brass and steel towel racks. When we first bought them, they were a mess, but did have layers and layers of decrepit leather and horsehair stuffing, so we knew them to be the real deal. Now, they have been fully restored and, in a black matte finish, are ready for your designer touch! Completely sturdy and very comfortable, they would be stunning flanking a fireplace, on either end of a dining table, or in a contemporary seating area. Plus, what conversation pieces! The wood (likely oak), brass, and steel chairs are in excellent condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. These are unsigned but surely made by Lorimer & Moyes, Glasgow, CA 1850s.

His and Hers English 19th C Winfield Wrought Iron Rocking Chair Frames

We adore the sculptural form of these wrought iron rocking chairs that date to the mid-19th century, but what makes them even more special is their superb comfort. Perfect with canvas or leather upholstery, and very easy to do. They are a near-pair, probably his and hers. Smaller one measures 22.75" wide x 47" long x 18.5" seat height. Larger one measures 22.5" wide x 51" long x 17.5 seat height. These chairs are in excellent condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. Made by R.W. Winfield of Birmingham, England, this chair was first shown at the Great Exhibition of 1851.

Set of Four Painted Oak Dining Chairs

We bought these beauties in England but think they may be Swedish. In soft sage green paint with incised white splay backs, they would make a lovely addition to a casual eating area. Dainty in appearance, they are in excellent sturdy condition. The upholstery has seen better days, but these are easily recovered with new fabric and a staple gun.
