Rare Pair of French Cast Iron "Loterie Nationale" Urns, Dated 1878
We have never come across this model of urn before and they are simply wonderful! Featuring winged griffin handles riveted to the squat bodies of the urns, the bowls have central medallions of “Marianne,” the iconic emblem of France and elegant foliate decoration. In excellent antique condition, they have a rusty patina with remnants of grey paint but can be sandblasted and repainted to your custom specification for a modest upcharge. Perfect on your dining table or oversized mantle, these urns can be dressed up or down for the occasion and make a superb statement. Weight is approximately 30 lbs. each.
