Elegant Three-Tier French Cast Stone Fountain
We rarely buy tiered fountains, but were struck by the simple, elegant form of this one, its wonderful condition, and the ease with which it is assembled. In six pieces, the overall weight is about 700 lbs., but the largest bowl is no more than 250 lbs. It would make a stunning focal point in a contemporary garden or modern parterre and if you don’t fancy a fountain, it can be planted with a profuse array of annuals and trailing vines. In excellent antique condition, it has no cracks, chips or repairs. And the great thing is you can make two fountains out of the bottom and middle pedestals and bowls if you like!

Pair of Very Large Ribbed Rectangular Willy Guhl Planters by Eternit
These very large rectangular ribbed planters with integral handles on two sides were designed by the iconic Willy Guhl and produced by Eternit of Switzerland. In excellent condition, they feature a lightly-patinated surface and would be stunning flanking the doorway to your contemporary home or garden, potted up with slender topiary and trailing vines. Made of fiber cement, a lightweight and very durable material, they may be left outside year-round in all weather, but we do recommend emptying them in harsh climates and covering them or turning them upside-down. Please note that we have multiple square planters identical to these in other sizes should you wish to buy a grouping.

German Copper-Colored Ceramic Crucible Planter
Crucibles have been used through history to smelt metal and other substances, but the ceramic ones make outstanding planters (and fire pits). This one has a dark mottled coppery-colored hue with a subtle sheen to the surface and a commodious planting well. It has a few chips to the edge which is always the case and no drain holes (although we can drill them for you). Wonderful potted up with moss for a Zen look or with Millet grass and trailing vines. They would be fabulous flanking the door of a contemporary or Arts and Crafts home. Stamped with an industrial logo on the outside.

Very Large Round French Carved Stone Pot/Planter/Fountain
Recently, we were able to source five enormous stone pots carved from Pierre de Rognes, a very hard stone from the area of Aix en Provence and they are stunning. Thick-walled, very rare, and in lovely condition, this grand pot would make a wonderful focal point in any garden either upright or on its side and can be plumbed as a fountain. In excellent condition, it has no chips, cracks or repairs. Weighing in at around 750-850 lbs., you will need a forklift onsite to handle it. Please note that this piece can stay outside throughout the winter in all climates if covered. We recommend installing it on a concrete footing or slab of stone to prevent sinking.

Pair of Large Round French Cast Stone Planters in Green-Painted Surface
What a fabulous find! This unusual pair of round and very heavy planters features a wonderful mottled painted surface in green with bits of moss. In excellent condition, one has two tiny hairline cracks and one has one, that affect neither look nor function. These would be stunning flanking your front door or entrance to your garden, potted up with profuse blooms or wavy grasses. Please note that in very cold winter climates, they should be emptied of soil and covered as a precaution. Each weighs ~ 450 lbs.

Pair of Massive French Pine Laundry Bins on Wheels as Planters
We bought these wonderful pine laundry bins on wheels with the idea of turning them into massive planters. In great condition, and with their original hardware, they could easily be converted into planters with the addition of custom fiberglass liners or shower board sides and bottoms. The wheels make them easy to move and wouldn’t they be fabulous as tree planters? We would probably paint them white or dark green, but the natural look works as well. In very sturdy condition with no cracks, repairs or missing pieces, these would be gorgeous at a country home.

Pair of Oval French Hand-Carved Burgundy Stone Jardinieres, CA 1800
These stunning oval jardinieres on rounded feet were hand-carved from single pieces of Pierre de Bourgogne (Burgundy Stone) around 1800. In fine condition, there is one old chip to the rim of one jardiniere and a nibble to one foot shown in photos. Extremely hardy in all climates and each weighing around 200 lbs., these can stay outside in all climates year-round, but we recommend installing them on stone or concrete footings to prevent sinking. Perfect flanking a doorway and potted up with agapanthus and moss, they will give you years of pleasure!

Pair of English 19th Century Barley-Twist Chimney Pots/Planters/Pedestals
We love these tall hand-made biscuit terracotta chimney pots for their rare sinuous barley-twist design with traces of coal dust on the surface, and their warm, creamy color. They are perfectly matched in height and levelness, although some of the photos show a different perspective. Very minor chipping is shown in the photos and both chimney pots are open at both ends. They would be superb as tall pedestals to hold nursery baskets of flowers, or tops and/or bottoms could be fashioned to convert them into pedestals for sculpture or actualy planters. Suitable for all climates year-round if properly installed, we recommend they be placed/mortared to a stone base or concrete footings and that the tops be covered in the winter (we usually use pieces of plywood). Please note that the outer diameter of both pots is 14 inches, while the inner diameter of one is 10.25 inches and the other 10 3/8 inches.

Huge Deep Canted Bowl Planter Designed by Willy Guhl #2
We were fortunate enough to recently find these two very-similarly sized enormous canted bowl planters, designed by the iconic Willy Guhl in the 1960s and produced by Eternit. However, because they are slightly different in size and have different weathered patinas, we are listing and selling them separately. This listing is for the lighter of the two planters, but you can see both pieces here in case you would like a near-pair. Made of fiber cement, a lightweight, strong and durable material, the planter can be left outside year-round, although we recommend that you empty and turn the planter upside-down in harsh winter climates. It would be stunning as a focal point in your garden or center driveway island, potted up with a profuse array of annuals, perennials or topiary. In very good condition, overall, there are a few minor chips to the rim, but no cracks or repairs. The planter has a multitude of drain-holes and a slight rim on the bottom to slightly elevate the planter, enabling good drainage.

Pair of Large Eternit Saucer Planters Designed by Willy Guhl
Traditionally known as "vasques", these large shallow saucer planters were designed by the iconic Willy Guhl and produced by Eternit of Switzerland. Their crisp, streamlined form is so visually appealing and they can hold a large planting of shallow-rooted plants such as sedum and grasses. Perfect flanking the entrance to a contemporary home or garden, they are made of fiber cement, a lightweight and durable material that can be left outside in all weather, although we do recommend emptying them and turning them upside-down in harsh winter climates. This pair is in excellent structural condition with no cracks or repairs and the one that shows red in the center can easily be cleaned, as this only a red algae stain. They have a lovely naturally-weathered surface and are stamped "Eternit" on the bottom. Priced and sold as a pair.

Pair of 5-Tier French Octagonal Stackable Cast Stone Planters
This pair of stackable cast stone planters has five tiers so you can use all five or remove one or two to achieve your desired height. Unusual in form and style, they would be the perfect accompaniment to a Tudor or Gothic Revival home or garden. Please note that they are hollow inside down to the bottom, so you can leave them as is and fill with soil or we can have a bottom poured for you for a modest up-charge. In lovely condition, with some lichen and greening, they have a few scrapes to some corners incurred in shipping, but these will weather over in no time. They are durable in all climates and very thick-walled, so no worries about leaving these outside over winter. Please note that each section (excluding the base) measures 8 inches high and the hexagonal base is 27 inches in diameter, with the overall height at 37 inches. We also have another complimentary pair that is slightly smaller in diameter but one tier taller (CPL 1131 A).

Large French Wooden Vendange Bucket from Burgundy
This wooden beauty was originally used to collect grapes from the vineyards during the "vendange" or grape harvest. It has an elaborate and quite stunning woven design to the top and bottom rims and has been branded with the initials "ML" under one handle. Hand-made of Sycamore and pine with wrought iron banding, we have left it in original found condition, but you may want to polish it with butcher's wax to remove the whitish areas and use it as a planter, kindling bucket, or storage for magazines and newspapers. Whatever use you choose, it is a stunning piece and will give you decades of pleasure inside or out. Please note it does not have drain holes, but we can drill them if you like.
