Pair of Scottish Regency Wrought Iron Benches, CA 1820

This is a wonderful pair of Regency benches, in newer green paint, and both very comfortable. In excellent condition, they feature scrolled arms, cabriole legs with two penny feet , and an X-form back. The scrolling arms of one are slightly smaller than those of the other, but this is to be expected of early hand-made wrought iron furniture. They would be wonderful on a terrace in a cocktail or dining area or at opposite ends of a short allée to savor the view. They come with four inch thick upholstered foam cushions that obstruct the overall beauty of the benches, but may be just what you need.

Pair of Belgian Cast Stone Australian Cattle/Shepherd Dogs with Superb Patina

We love this identical pair of cast stone dogs for their unusual form and stunning patinated surface. They could be shepherds or an ancient breed, but we think they look most like Australian Cattle Dogs. Dating from the 1920s, they are in very good condition overall, with multiple old and weathered chips to the bases. One dog had an old repair to its tail that has recently been redone. Perfect flanking the entrance to your home or garden, they are very heavy and can be left outside uncovered year-round if installed on stone or concrete. Please note that because they are identical, we are selling them separately.

What a find! This Art Deco panther is life-sized and is in marvelous condition. Sinuous and beautifully-cast, it sits on an integral rocky base and is a real show-stopper in any garden. Overall dimensions are listed below but the panther itself measures: 23.5 inches high x 54 inches wide x 11 inches deep at the shoulders. Pair of Massive French Pine Laundry Bins on Wheels as Planters

We bought these wonderful pine laundry bins on wheels with the idea of turning them into massive planters. In great condition, and with their original hardware, they could easily be converted into planters with the addition of custom fiberglass liners or shower board sides and bottoms. The wheels make them easy to move and wouldn’t they be fabulous as tree planters? We would probably paint them white or dark green, but the natural look works as well. In very sturdy condition with no cracks, repairs or missing pieces, these would be gorgeous at a country home.

Pair of Oval French Hand-Carved Burgundy Stone Jardinieres, CA 1800

These stunning oval jardinieres on rounded feet were hand-carved from single pieces of Pierre de Bourgogne (Burgundy Stone) around 1800. In fine condition, there is one old chip to the rim of one jardiniere and a nibble to one foot shown in photos. Extremely hardy in all climates and each weighing around 200 lbs., these can stay outside in all climates year-round, but we recommend installing them on stone or concrete footings to prevent sinking. Perfect flanking a doorway and potted up with agapanthus and moss, they will give you years of pleasure!

Four Mid-19th C French Numbered Carved Stone Mile Markers

We love historical architectural pieces and these four carved stone distance markers came from outside the city of Nancy in France. Each features remnants of old yellow and white paint and they have large carved numbers in them: Numbers 11, 12, 13 and 16. Perfect to mark your address, they are in very good antique condition and very solid. The one with #13 has a large chip out of the top right-hand side, but is still quite striking. Number 11 has additional writing on it “Pann 3” but we do not know its origin or meaning. Priced and sold individually.

Large Pair of Framed Florentine Dried Botanicals #1, Dated 1905

We have two pairs of these large Florentine dried Botanicals, as well as a single one, all with different species, but identically framed and they make a powerful statement (especially if you hang them side-by-side on a single wall). They are in good antique condition, but there has been some humidity that has seeped into the paper, giving each the backing of each botanical a wavy appearance. Also, the dating in ink on each one is slightly blurred and there is a bit of foxing, but they all date to between 1905 and 1912. The frames are solid and in chippy white paint that works beautifully with the botanicals. All handmade by an unknown artist in Florence in the early 20th century, they are elegant and quite detailed.

Very Large Ribbed Rectangular Willy Guhl Planters by Eternit

These very large rectangular ribbed planters with integral handles on two sides were designed by the iconic Willy Guhl and produced by Eternit of Switzerland. In very good structural condition with minor crazing to some of the top edges, they feature a lightly-patinated surface and would be stunning flanking the doorway to your contemporary home or garden, potted up with slender topiary and trailing vines. Made of fiber cement, a lightweight and very durable material, they may be left outside year-round in all weather, but we do recommend emptying them in harsh climates and covering them or turning them upside-down. We have 2 planters available at the moment.

Large Mid-Century French Hand-Made Wrought Iron Eagle Sculpture

We are suckers for great animal sculpture, regardless of the age, and this hand-made wrought iron sculpture of a landing eagle does not disappoint. Reputedly made by a French artisan from the Massif Central in the 1940s and handed down through his family, it has exquisite detailing and movement. The claws are especially impressive and the overall form commanding. Attached to its original block of wood, it can easily be fastened to a stone or wooden plinth for display indoors or out. With some light surface rusting, it has obviously been kept inside for most of its life, but would be wonderful outside. Please note that we have a beautiful 19th Century Bathstone Plinth (SPE 1025) that would make a fine base for the eagle.

Pair of English 19th Century Barley-Twist Chimney Pots/Planters/Pedestals

We love these tall hand-made biscuit terracotta chimney pots for their rare sinuous barley-twist design with traces of coal dust on the surface, and their warm, creamy color. They are perfectly matched in height and levelness, although some of the photos show a different perspective. Very minor chipping is shown in the photos and both chimney pots are open at both ends. They would be superb as tall pedestals to hold nursery baskets of flowers, or tops and/or bottoms could be fashioned to convert them into pedestals for sculpture or actualy planters. Suitable for all climates year-round if properly installed, we recommend they be placed/mortared to a stone base or concrete footings and that the tops be covered in the winter (we usually use pieces of plywood). Please note that the outer diameter of both pots is 14 inches, while the inner diameter of one is 10.25 inches and the other 10 3/8 inches.

French Wrought Iron and Oak Folding Dining Suite for Eight, Marked "Pecheur"

We usually don't go in for red, but this set is so outstanding in form, utility and patina, we couldn't resist. The chairs, most of which have a slight wobble to their legs from decades of use, are made of oak with all original riveting to the frames. And they fold! There are 3 different sizes and forms to the back slats, and they are made of oak. There also is some warping to some of the oak slats, but nothing that makes them uncomfortable or unstable. They are truly solid! Lastly, one chair is missing a horizontal cross piece to its back. All chairs are in their original red paint with "Pecheur" painted on the rear side of the top back slats. The table is in very good solid condition, with a large painted logo of a man drinking beer, labeled "Pecheur", and also folds for easy transport and set-up. This set is best placed on grass so that the chairs will sink in a bit and eliminate the slight wobble. "Pecheur" is the name of an Alsation beer, made by the Fischer Company and is a play on words, as, in French, "pecheur" means fisherman. Chair dimensions vary from chair to chair, but are roughly 31-33.5" high x 17.75-18.5" deep x 15.5-17.75" wide, with seat heights of 17.5-18.5". Please contact us if you need individual chair dimensions.

Life-Sized English Headless Figure of Venus

We love all forms of classical statuary, and this unusual piece is fabricated from resin, so she probably was an indoor piece or movie prop originally. Very lightweight, and in overall good vintage condition, there are some losses to the "wave" bottom part on which she stands. She also has a crack line around one wrist, that is very solid, and doesn't need repair. WIth an overall creamy-color, she does have some surface marks on her arms and back (shown i photos), so might very well benefit from being repainted, which we can do for you for a modest up-charge. A whimsical addition to a classical foyer or, if you can attach her to a stone base with mortar, she will do well outside.

Three English Edwardian Mounted Fungi Sculptures of Fomes Fomentarius

We were blown away when we first saw these petrified mushroom sculptures as there is nothing else like them! Reminiscent in form of Nike of Samothrace, they would make a stunning display on a dining table, coffee table, or atop a large mantle where their fabulous form and texture can be fully appreciated. One has had a small repair that is pretty much invisible unless you are looking for it, but this does not detract from its beauty or stability. Each is mounted on different wooden bases, painted matte black for a real WOW factor. Sold as a set of three.
